Olympic Games 2008
World's biggest restaurant at the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing
At the Olympic Games in Athens 2004, R?DER Zelt- und Veranstaltungsservice GmbH had already provided more than 500 tents totalling well over 30,000 m2 of roofed area.
R?DER delivered a total of 40,000 m2 of tents to Beijing. The material for the big tents comes from the factory in Büdingen, the small tents from the branch in Shanghai. The biggest tent ensemble (100 x 185 m) with a capacity of approximately 16,000 seats will serve as a restaurant for the athletes and officials in the Olympic Village. This world's biggest restaurant covering a ground area of 18,500 m2 has already been inaugurated this April. All the tent structures were also used for the Paralympic Games that were taking place from 6-17 September 2008.
